Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Fintwit ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit the website or use the Fintwit digest service. We act in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Belgian law.
1. Data controller
The data controller for the processing described in this policy is the operator of Fintwit, established in Belgium.
Fintwit is currently operated as a personal project from Belgium. Paid access is not open yet. Business registration and VAT details will be added before paid subscriptions are made available. Contact for all privacy matters: contact@digest-fintwit.com.
2. Data we collect
Account and subscription data
- email address and authentication credentials
- Stripe customer and subscription identifiers
- investor profile information you choose to provide
Usage data
- pages or features you use
- subscription events
- limited product usage information (for example, profile filters used)
- timestamps and technical logs needed for security and reliability
3. How we use data
- provide and operate your subscription
- send the digest and service-related emails
- understand which features and profiles are used
- improve digest relevance and overall service quality
- secure the service and prevent abuse
We do not sell personal data and we do not run third-party advertising.
4. Legal bases for processing
- Performance of a contract — creating your account, delivering the digest, and managing your subscription.
- Legitimate interests — securing the service, preventing abuse, and improving the product based on limited usage information.
- Legal obligation — accounting, tax and record-keeping requirements.
- Consent — where specifically requested (for example, optional communications). You may withdraw consent at any time.
5. Service providers and processors
We rely on a small number of trusted providers that process personal data on our behalf, under written data-processing terms:
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
- OVH — email infrastructure for transactional and digest emails.
- Hosting provider — application and edge hosting for the Fintwit web service.
6. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards under GDPR, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, together with any supplementary measures required.
7. Data retention
- Account data is kept while your account is active and for a limited period after closure to handle support, disputes and legal obligations.
- Billing and accounting records are kept for the period required by Belgian tax law.
- Technical logs and usage data are kept only as long as needed for security, reliability and service improvement, then deleted or anonymised.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you
- request correction of inaccurate data
- request deletion of your data
- request restriction of processing
- object to processing based on legitimate interests
- data portability for data you provided
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
To exercise these rights, contact contact@digest-fintwit.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Autorité de protection des données / Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit, www.dataprotectionauthority.be).
9. Automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making, including profiling, that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.
10. Cookies
We use essential cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, security and basic service functionality.
These cookies are necessary for the website and member dashboard to work properly.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies.
If we introduce analytics, advertising or other non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, request consent before placing them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email.
